The 2020 CIFIT will focus on the Belt and Road Initiative and digital economy, according to a meeting held by the organizing committee on Aug 25.

CIFIT has always played an important role in the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). This year, the event will continue focusing on the BRI by organizing a series of activities, including a silk road marine shipping exhibiton, a silk road marine shipping cooperation forum, and a high-level BRI development forum.

The fair this year will also put particular focus on the industrial internet. The China International Industrial Internet Exhibition to be held during the event will showcase innovative technologies and China's development achievements in industrial internet, including 5G technology, edge computing, cloud computing, big data, and encryption techniques.

The event will also focus more on new economic forms, including new infrastructure, digital economy, and fintech innovation by organizing various related exhibitions.

The event this year will be held both online and offline. The offline event will have an exhibition area of 110,000 square meters and 16 exhibition zones for exhibitors from 38 countries and regions, including the United Kingdom, Germany, Belgium, and Japan.

The online CIFIT will be launched on Sept 8, the first day of the event, and offer services such as exhibitions, project matchmaking, investment negotiations, forums and symposiums, and contract signing.

CIFIT, held every September in Xiamen, is an international investment event aimed at promoting bilateral and multilateral economic exchange and cooperation. It also serves to showcase China's achievements in reform and opening-up.
