Achievements in improving living standards

Per capita disposable income of urban residents in Harbin reached 37,828 yuan in 2018, an increase of 6.4 percent compared with that in 2017; and the per capita disposable income of rural residents reached 16,934 yuan, a year-on-year increase of 8.9 percent.

The Engel coefficient of urban households was 32.1 percent in 2018; and the Engel coefficient of rural households was 37.5 percent.

In 2018, 73.26 million urban workers and residents had basic medical insurance (including the new rural cooperative medical insurance), 2.55 million urban workers had basic pension insurance, 982,000 workers had unemployment insurance, 1.37 million workers had employment injury insurance and 918,000 workers had maternity insurance.

In 2018, there were 360 nursing homes with 52,000 beds, adding another 3,871 beds compared the previous year.

The minimum living guaranteed standard for urban residents was 642 yuan per month for each person. And the minimum living standard for rural residents was 3,900 yuan per year for each person.
