Youxian district, Mianyang expands cooperation at high-tech expo

Youxian district, a core area of State-level Mianyang Science and Technology City, integrated with the 6th China Science and Technology City International High-Tech Expo held from Sept 5 to 9 by organizing five activities and two exhibitions that promoted win-win cooperation and introduction of investments and talents.

The five activities included a lecture on "Science and Art", the launching ceremony of a talent club for military-civilian integration, an investment promotion conference, a forum on national public safety and emergency prevention and control, and a forum on the application of the latest military-civilian integration technology.

The talent club aims to provide a communication platform for technical experts, entrepreneurs, technicians, and university professors involved with military-civilian integration in their spare time for the evaluation of military-civilian integration enterprises and the release of military-civilian integration technology. It will be a mechanism for transferring technological achievements of scientific research institutes into practical applications.

The investment promotion conference saw the signing of 28 major industrial projects with a total investment of some 21.9 billion yuan ($3.2 billion). The projects cover intelligent manufacturing, military-civilian integration, energy conservation and environmental protection, intellectual support, and human resources.

At the promotion event, the Youxian district government, in accordance with its policy of supporting the development of military-civilian integration enterprises (units), presented some 5.09 million yuan of cash awards to 39 projects from 23 companies.

The district government also paid ten companies and units 1.15 million yuan for their consulting services to attract investment and high-quality human resources.

The forum on national public safety and emergency prevention and control, which focused on technical, academic and management issues involved in public safety and emergency management, promoted the development of national public safety and emergency rescue technologies and the transformation and integration of military and civilian achievements.

The forum on the application of the latest military-civilian integration technology showcased the outstanding projects and achievements of military-civilian integration in Sichuan Province. Twenty technological achievements won awards on military-civilian integration at the event, nine of which were by companies in Youxian district.

The technological achievements from the Automation Research Institute of China South Industries Group Corporation and Sichuan Jiuzhou Aerocont Technologies Co Ltd won first prize.

During the high-tech expo, Youxian district also showcased the high-tech products developed by its military-civilian integration enterprises.

"The high-tech expo is an important window for us to demonstrate our advantages and connect Youxian with the outside world," said Jiang Bin, Party chief of the district.

"We have the foundation, conditions and confidence to build Youxian into a dynamic, ecological, credible and happy place with legal system support by seizing multiple opportunities and meeting the challenges of a new round of scientific and technological revolution," Jiang added.
