2015-06-01

The First Automotive Works Corp (FAW), in the city of Changchun, Jilin province sent 15 of its Xiali vehicles to the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) via the city of Hunchun's Quanhe port in the province by ship at 10 o'clock in the morning, May 29, chinajilin.com has reported, one of the port's largest single vehicle exports since January.

The vehicles, worth more than 500,000 yuan ($80,000), were sent to the city of Rason, a special trade center just across the border in DPRK by China's State-owned automotive corporation in Jilin.

According to the manufacturer, they are looking at more exports in the future. So far, the volume of vehicles headed for the DPRK through Quanhe has been increasing, providing a good foundation for future economic exchanges and growth on both sides of the border, thanks to a preferential Chinese policy on automotive exports and greater communication with the DPRK.

FAW was founded back in 1953 in Jilin province and now employs 120,000 people around the world, with its vehicles sold in more than 70 countries.
