Huizhou wins title of bee home in China
Updated: 2014-03-04

Huizhou in Anhui province has been labelled by the Apicultural Science Association of China as one of China's four home areas for bees.

The other three are Pubei in the Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, Chengkou in Chongqing, and Conghua in Guangdong province.

Huizhou, which is one of China's key bases for bee-related products, has favorable farming conditions for the growth of more than 1,000 kinds of plants, which are conducive to bees..

A total of 1,268 beekeepers raised 115,000 groups of bees in 2013, generating an output value of 130 million yuan ($21.2 million), a source with the association said.
