Hefei to stage chess master shows
Updated: 2013-03-17

Eight master chess players in Hefei, capital of Anhui province, are set to wow fans with their remarkable skills at a contest starting late Monday.

The three-day competition is intended to act as a platform for face-to-face communication between local chess players and enthusiasts, Xu Bo, an official of the Hefei Chess Federation, said. He added that it will really make no difference who wins the game, the important thing is bringing joy to players and spectators at the event.

The players are believed to be the most renowned chess masters in the city, ranging from 24 to 70 years old.

The contest is slated to run between 6:30 pm and 9 pm Monday to Wednesday at Hefei Municipal Stadium. Admission will be free to spectators.
