Zhang, who works at checkpoints along China-Myanma border in Menghai county, southwestern Yunnan, volunteered to be in the anti-drug squad, and she excels in her job. She has now mastered the art of spotting criminals by fostering the habit of analyzing people and vehicles that cross her checkpoints.

In the past eight months, she has searched 8,000 vehicles and 18,000 people, resulting in busting 19 drug-related crimes, seizing more than 105 kilograms of drugs as well as five guns and 200 bullets.
