Law to regulate judicial sales

A new law to regulate local courts on the process of judicial sales will come into effect on Jan 1, 2012, the Supreme People's Court said on Wednesday.

The law, which took two years to develop, will standardize the assessment and auction processes for properties involved in legal cases.

Wang Shaonan, a spokesman for the Supreme People's Court, said courts should set up a separate administrative section to manage judicial sales. A lottery system will be used to choose auctioneers from qualified candidates to ensure fairness. The court also said an online bidding platform will be introduced to make auctions more transparent.
