China to levy anti-dumping duties on imports of acrylic fibers, steel

BEIJING -- The Ministry of Commerce said on Friday that it will levy anti-dumping duties on imported acrylic fibers from Japan, the Republic of Korea and Turkey.

The move comes after an investigation launched last year showed evidence of dumping that was harming China's industry, the ministry said in a statement on its website.

Effective Saturday, importers of acrylic fibers from the three countries will be required to pay deposits ranging from 6.1 percent to 17.8 percent, according to the level of dumping.
In a separate statement, the ministry said that it had decided to levy anti-dumping duties on imports of Grain Oriented Flat-rolled Electrical Steel (GOES) from Japan, the Republic of Korea and the European Union.

The importers will be subject to deposits ranging from 14.5 percent to 46.3 percent.
