Jin Yun, head of Marketing and Communications at Siemens China, introduced Eigen, Siemens' first-ever engineering agent worldwide, designed to support factory automation.
The design and adjustment of automated production lines traditionally involve extensive programming and configuration by engineers, as well as human-machine interface design, all of which can be time-consuming. Eigen can understand complex operating conditions, technical requirements and changes in order specifications, then automatically generate automation code, configure hardware and design user interfaces.
According to the Jin, tasks that previously took engineers weeks or days can now be completed in just hours, or even minutes. By taking over all the complicated and repetitive work, Eigen allows engineers to devote more of their expertise to developing innovative solutions.
Industrial AI will be one of Siemens' strategic focus areas. Eigen is the company's first engineering agent, and its capabilities are continuously evolving, with new features being added to further expand what it can do.
