The Defender Dakar Rally prototype also makes its CIIE debut. Based on the production Defender OCTA, it shares its D7x body architecture and 4.4-litre V8 powertrain. Displayed together, the two vehicles demonstrate more than seven decades of Defender capability, performance and proven reliability.
The JLR booth also features a dedicated Range Rover SV Bespoke experience. Visitors can explore more than 1.6 million combinations of colors, materials and finishes, gaining a closer appreciation of Range Rover's approach to craftsmanship, exclusivity and personal expression.
Since entering the Chinese market 16 years ago, JLR has continued to deepen its understanding of local clients' expectations.
In 2026, JLR brought the identities of Range Rover and Defender to life through products and experiences tailored to Chinese clients. Defender OCTA pushed the boundaries of all-terrain performance, while Destination Defender returned for its fourth edition.
Range Rover continued to focus on refinement, exclusivity and personal expression. The Range Rover SV Bespoke Year of the Horse Edition combined exclusive design with cultural references created for China, while Range Rover House brought together vehicles, art and lifestyle in a highly curated setting.
JLR's investments are reflected in market performance and client recognition. It has led China's luxury SUV segment above 700,000 yuan ($104,477) for two consecutive years. Range Rover has led the luxury SUV segment above 1.5 million yuan for three consecutive years, with a market share of nearly 40 per cent, while Defender continues to rank among the leading models in the luxury SUV segment above 700,000 yuan.
In 2026, JLR China ranked highest among luxury brands in four key J.D. Power China studies covering product appeal, purchase experience, customer service and vehicle dependability.
Alongside its focus on products and client experiences, JLR has continued to embed corporate social responsibility in its development in China. At this year's CIIE, a dedicated display at the JLR booth presents 12 years of work by the China Soong Ching Ling Foundation Jaguar Land Rover China Children & Youth Dream Fund (the "Dream Fund") across innovative education, social care and cultural exchange between the UK and China.
The Dream Fund entered a new phase in April this year, with JLR announcing a planned investment of 25 million yuan to support its further development and continue helping children and young people in China lead healthier lives and fulfil their potential. To date, JLR has invested over 100 million yuan through the fund, benefiting more than 700,000 young people.
