Disney Cruise Line unveiled its first consumer pop-up experience in the Chinese mainland on Tuesday at Shanghai Disney Resort, offering visitors a preview of the Disney Adventure, the company's first ship to homeport in Asia.
The interactive exhibition at Disneytown — adjacent to Shanghai Disneyland's main entrance — will open to the public on Nov 4, and run through Jan 15, 2027. The experience features a 40-meter installation inspired by the cruise ship's exterior.
"The Disney Adventure opens an exciting new chapter for Disney Cruise Line in Asia," said Sarah Fox, vice-president and regional general manager, Southeast Asia, Disney Cruise Line. "Our collaboration with Shanghai Disney Resort gives guests in the Chinese mainland a special way to step into that story before beginning their holiday in Singapore."
"By bringing the ship's characters, spaces, and experiences to Disneytown, we hope to help families and Disney fans discover what makes a Disney cruise unlike any other holiday at sea," she added.
The installation welcomes visitors with captain Mickey and Minnie statues at the entrance, leading them through immersive displays showcasing the ship's seven themed areas featuring Disney, Pixar, and Marvel stories.
Interactive screens present entertainment options, dining venues, attractions, and amenities designed for all age groups. Detailed ship models and cross-section artwork provide a look at the vessel's interior design.
"We are excited to see the Disney Cruise Line pop-up activation reach the shores of Wishing Star Lake and dock at Disneytown," Andrew Bolstein, president and general manager of Shanghai Disney Resort, said. "This new activation gives guests more reasons to visit the resort and discover the many ways Disney delights audiences across the region."
Disney Adventure also offers cuisine reflecting regional preferences, including Chinese, Singaporean, Indian, and Japanese dishes alongside international favorites. The ship accommodates multigenerational families with dedicated spaces and activities for both children and adults.
The cruise ship's highlights include seven themed areas, the original Broadway-style musical Remember, Ironcycle Test Run — Disney Cruise Line's first roller coaster on a ship and the longest at sea — and Bon Voyage Breakfast with Duffy's Friends, the fleet's first character breakfast featuring the Duffy and Friends characters.
Disney Adventure offers three- and four-night itineraries from Singapore starting this year, with select four-night sailings calling at Langkawi, Malaysia, beginning Dec 31.
