Germany has become the latest country in Europe to witness urban unrest after cost-of-living protests on the weekend turned violent. Unrest across continental Europe shows no sign of easing and continues to spread.
Protests also took place in France, Italy, Portugal and Spain over rising living costs, housing and education. Some protests involved violent clashes, and hundreds were arrested. (Video Yang Yi)
