The Chinese and Indonesian armies will hold the "Sharp Knife-2026" joint counterterrorism exercise in Guangdong province from late October to early November, the Chinese Ministry of National Defense said on Monday.
The exercise will focus on joint counterterrorism and rescue operations in mountainous terrain, with training covering mountain climbing, specialized driving, helicopter fast-roping, close-quarters assault, and manned-unmanned coordination, the ministry stated.
This exercise marks the third joint training in the series conducted by the two sides. It is expected to further deepen practical exchanges and cooperation between the two militaries and enhance their joint operational capabilities, the ministry added.
