Editor's note: The State Council Information Office held a group interview on Wednesday, themed "Strivers on the New Journey", bringing together representatives from the judicial administration sector to meet with journalists and answer questions on the topic of "Serving on the Front Lines of Judicial Administration to Advance Peaceful China Initiative and Rule of Law in China".

I've worked in the justice sector for 23 years, helping drug users receive treatment and promoting public awareness of how to identify drugs and stay away from them. My colleagues and I develop personalized treatment plans for each drug user and try to open their hearts through therapies such as sand play and group psychotherapy. Outside the rehabilitation center, I work with volunteers to promote anti-drug knowledge in accessible ways, such as teaching children songs with lyrics against drug abuse. Drug abuse threatens social stability, so our efforts to prevent drug abuse and treat drug addiction help build a strong line of defense for national security.

Whether inspections follow proper procedures and penalties are appropriate affect the public's perception of law-based governance. We first make sure that we, as members of the administrative law enforcement team, conduct ourselves properly and meet professional standards. We also continuously improve our capabilities through training. The public will have greater trust in us as we strengthen supervision and standardize law enforcement. We will continue working to ensure that people receive more standardized, fairer and more humane law enforcement services.

Zhao Dong, chief of the administrative law enforcement coordination and supervision section at the justice bureau of Linyi, Shandong province

I've worked at a grassroots justice station in a mountainous region of Hubei province since 1987. Baiyangba town has 29 villages and about 90,000 residents. In the past, roads and other infrastructure were poor, so my colleagues and I traveled on foot to visit rural residents. Over the past 39 years, I've mediated more than 4,000 disputes, organized 1,500 legal education activities and provided consultation services to more than 50,000 people. Grassroots work is key to building a law-based nation. Our job is not only to ensure that local authorities make decisions in accordance with the law, but also to protect people's rights and ensure that the law benefits the public.

Lei Hongbing, director of Baiyangba judicial office, Lichuan, Enshi Tujia and Miao autonomous prefecture, Hubei province

I once worked in Ganzi Tibetan autonomous prefecture in Sichuan province and learned about the difficulties people there faced in accessing notarization services because of the natural conditions of the plateau and cultural differences, including language and customs. It is therefore necessary to take these differences into account rather than simply applying practices based on experience in urban areas, so that local people's needs can be met.

Shu Xin, a notary at Chengdu Guoli Notary Public Office, Sichuan province

I've devoted more than 20 years to foreign-related legal services, covering cross-border arbitration, compliance and responses to investigations. I support Chinese companies within the international legal framework and help protect their rights. I've also helped introduce China's legal practices and contribute to the development and improvement of the international legal framework. I'm pleased that more Chinese companies have become better equipped to resolve disputes in accordance with the law within the international legal framework. I will continue to safeguard the interests of the nation and Chinese companies, helping the world hear China's voice on law-based governance.
