More than 20 experts from the World Council of Fisheries Societies and several United States universities visited the Xiangjiang River in Xiangtan, Central China's Hunan province, on Sunday to observe the fishing resources and the restoration of aquatic life.
This visit followed their participation in preparatory meetings for the 2028 World Fisheries Conference, held at Hunan University of Science and Technology in Xiangtan.
While taking a boat on the river, the experts observed technicians from the Xiangtan fishery department as they sampled and measured fish. As monitoring nets were pulled from the water, a variety of fish were carefully sorted, recorded, and measured.
