The Honghaitan wetland in Qingdao West Coast New Area, Shandong province, recently entered its prime viewing season, as the lush jianpeng grass gradually turned red, making the tidal flats look like rosy clouds.

Located at the confluence of the Juyang River and Jiaozhou Bay, the wetland has become a striking coastal landscape thanks to local efforts in recent years to protect the wetland and restore its ecosystem. These efforts have transformed what was once a stretch of tidal flats into a thriving natural attraction.

The transformation offers a vivid example of the local commitment to coastal ecological conservation and green development, while highlighting the harmonious coexistence of people and nature.
