Beijing University of Chinese Medicine marks 70th anniversary
Beijing University of Chinese Medicine (BUCM) marked its 70th anniversary on Monday with a conference highlighting innovation, international cooperation, and the future development of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM).
Held at the university's Liangxiang campus, the event brought together more than 1,500 alumni, retired faculty members, students, and guests, including representatives from more than 110 Chinese universities and 30 foreign institutions.
Wang Yaoqi, Party secretary of BUCM, called for greater cooperation across disciplines and borders to advance TCM modernization. Modernization and internationalization of TCM requires breaking boundaries in mindsets, research paradigms, and exchange and cooperation, Wang said at a forum held as part of the anniversary celebrations.
