Hohhot, City of a Thousand Parks
Step into Hohhot, the "City of a Thousand Parks", where every green space and garden shines.
By the end of 2025, Hohhot had built 1,009 parks and small gardens, including 684 pocket parks and street-corner micro-green spaces. Its greenways totaled more than 679 kilometers, enabling residents to see nature the moment they open their windows.
These parks, gardens, and green spaces did not appear out of nowhere. Hohhot gradually transformed abandoned sand pits, barren wastelands, and leftover urban corners, upgrading them step by step to return them to everyday life.
Halaqin Ecology Park has grown woodlands out of former sand pits. The Dahei River Country Park has become an Eden for migratory birds. Pocket parks turn paths, trees, and benches into cherished places for residents to pause and linger.
