Chinese authorities launch joint probe into brake pedal fracture reports
The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Office of the Central Cyberspace Affairs Commission, and the State Administration for Market Regulation said on Thursday that they have launched a joint investigation into reports of brake pedal bracket fractures in the V800 models of Maextro, a Chinese electric vehicle brand, according to an official announcement.
The three authorities said they attach great importance to the issue and have formed a joint task force to verify the matter based on preliminary investigations. The task force will handle the case in accordance with laws and regulations, and relevant findings will be released to the public in a timely manner.
The joint action underscores Beijing's heightened scrutiny of automotive safety and product quality, particularly amid the rapid growth of China's electric vehicle sector.
