The Foreign Ministry announced on Thursday Premier Li Qiang's upcoming Eurasian trip to Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Russia starting from Saturday.

Li will pay an official visit to Uzbekistan from Saturday to Sunday. From Sunday to Tuesday, he will pay an official visit to Tajikistan and attend the 25th meeting of the Council of Heads of Government (Prime Ministers) of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.

Through the two official visits, China looks to enhance implementation of consensuses reached by the heads of state, deepen political mutual trust, expand win-win cooperation and promote common development, Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning told reporters in Beijing on Thursday.

This year marks the 25th anniversary of the founding of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.

At the SCO meeting, China will work with various parties to engage in in-depth exchanges of views on implementing the strategic blueprint adopted at the SCO Tianjin Summit and the consensus reached at the SCO Bishkek Summit, Mao said.

Beijing also looks to "better safeguard the common interests of member states, and make more effective contributions to peace, stability, development and prosperity in the region and the world", she added.

As the third and the last leg of the trip, Li will travel to Russia from Tuesday to Thursday for the 31st regular meeting between Chinese and Russian heads of government.

China is willing to take this trip as an opportunity to work with Russia to effectively implement the important consensus reached by the heads of state of both countries and constantly deepen political mutual trust, Mao said.

Beijing also looks to advance comprehensive and practical cooperation between the two sides to greater depth and substance, and jointly bring benefits to the peoples of both countries, she added.
