This year's container freight volume transported by rail-sea intermodal trains along the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor exceeded 1 million twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs) by Oct 6, according to the China Railway Nanning Bureau.
The corridor now operates 54 regular freight routes, two more than in the previous quarter, as railway authorities continue to expand its transport network, said Zhao Guihu, station master of Qinzhou Port East Railway Station.
Since the rail-sea intermodal service began, the trains have transported a cumulative 6.1 million TEUs, with average annual growth exceeding 50 percent, according to the bureau.
The corridor provides freight transport links supporting foreign trade in Southwest China.
