The vintage, all-conquering Novak is back — and he chose the right time and place to return.
Leaning on the thunderous cheers from the sold-out Diamond Court, Novak Djokovic appeared to have turned back time, conjuring his tennis magic to overcome a one-set deficit and outplay top seed Alexander Zverev 4-6, 6-4, 6-4 in a gripping quarterfinal on Sunday to keep his flawless China Open record intact.
It marked the Serbian great's 32nd consecutive win at the China Open, where he won six titles from 2009-15 and remains on course for a record-extending seventh crown at the ATP 500 event.
