Harvest festival held on glass bridge in Yunnan's Nizhuhe canyon

A harvest festival was recently held on the glass suspension bridge in the Nizhuhe Grand Canyon of Xuanwei, Yunnan province, to celebrate the local farmers' joy and happiness over a bountiful harvest.

The farmers used corn, chili peppers, marigolds, and wild plants to create unique decorations for their clothing. They then proudly walked across the 360-meter-high suspension bridge and showcased the region's specialties.

Some of the crops featured at the harvest festival were sourced from villages at the bottom of the canyon and transported up using cliffside elevators. On July 31, the Fuyao elevator, known as the second aerial school bus, was put into operation, further streamlining the transport of agricultural products out of the mountainous region.

The newly completed project, together with the old elevator Qingyun, built in 2022, ensures that locals, including schoolchildren, no longer have to navigate a perilous mountain path on foot.
