G331 National Highway road trip event concludes in Hunchun, Jilin

The week-long road trip event along the G331 National Highway concluded on Tuesday in Fangchuan village in Hunchun, Jilin province.

The G331 is a border tourism highway that begins in Dandong, Liaoning province, and stretches west to Altay prefecture, Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, covering approximately 9,300 kilometers.

The event had launched simultaneously in Altay and Ji'an, Jilin province, on Thursday to deepen the cooperative efforts between the two regions and promote the sharing of cultural and tourism resources, cultural exchange, and mutual understanding.

Two motorcades traveled in opposite directions along G331, comprising media reporters, cultural and tourism professionals, and online influencers. Using livestreams, they bridged geographical distances and initiated a cultural dialogue.

The Jilin section of the G331 Highway extends 1,314 km, connecting the Yalu River, Tumen River, and the Changbai Mountain Range, and passing through 10 counties, 216 border villages, and 45 tourist attractions rated 3A or above. Following renovations and expansions, the Jilin section now features eight tourist stations, 42 parking areas, 23 viewing platforms, and 22 parking spots. The road conditions have improved, and the popularity of border self-driving tours is on the rise.

During the past week, the Jilin motorcade visited the Ji'an Yalu River National Gate Scenic Area to sing My Motherland and I and paid homage to revolutionary martyrs at the Siping Battle Memorial Hall.

They witnessed a fresh new look brought about by cultural and tourism development in Ditaizi village in Baishan.

They also experienced intangible cultural heritage projects like Changbai Mountain ginseng harvesting customs, Korean ethnic song and dance, rice cake making, Manchu paper cutting, and fish skin painting.
