Global oncology collaboration platform launched at Foshan forum

A global oncology collaboration platform for complex cases was launched in Foshan, Guangdong province, during a recent forum on the topic, aiming to promote regular international collaboration among medical institutions, oncologists, and professional resources.

The platform will bring together medical institutions and oncology resources from around the world to help facilitate the sharing of clinical experiences, diagnostic and treatment resources, and expert capabilities, gradually building an international network for remote consultations and second opinion services. Members of the platform will be able to conduct online case discussions on difficult and complex cancer cases in the future.

The complexity of cancer diagnosis and treatment means that no single country or institution can independently cover the entire chain from basic research to clinical translation, according to Hu Hang, chairman and CEO of Fosun Health. "Through the platform we hope to transform cutting-edge global academic achievements into accessible and affordable diagnostic and treatment solutions for patients, with a focus on academic excellence and patient-centered care," said Hu.

The company is set to advance medical education and clinical technology training and transfer in collaboration with its Vietnamese partner institutions. "We will gradually establish a cooperative mechanism tailored to the professional needs in the field of oncology diagnosis and treatment, including short-term clinical fellowships, remote case discussions, specialized academic conferences, and physician exchanges," said Hu.

The platform was launched on Saturday during the 1st International Oncology Treatment Forum, which brought together over 200 experts in oncology, radiotherapy, and related fields from 15 countries and regions. Participants discussed the development of international radiation oncology, the current state of cancer treatment around the world, precision radiotherapy, cell therapy, clinical trial design, and international medical services.
