Former Liaoning CPPCC vice-chairman under investigation

Dai Yulin, former vice-chairman of the Liaoning Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, is being investigated for suspected serious violations of Party discipline and national laws, China's top anti-corruption watchdogs said on Thursday.

The announcement was made online by the Communist Party of China Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the National Commission of Supervision. No further details were released.

Public information shows that Dai, 67, a native of Nanjing, Jiangsu province, began his career in December 1976 and joined the CPC in November 1985. He spent decades working in Liaoning after graduating from a college in the province.

From May 2008 to August 2010, Dai worked in Dalian, Liaoning province, holding various positions, including vice-mayor of the city. He later became Party chief of Dandong, another city in Liaoning.

In January 2017, he became deputy head of the Liaoning Provincial Committee of the CPPCC.
