Alshaa named 'World Camel Milk Capital' at intl conference
Alshaa League in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region has been named the "World Camel Milk Capital" at the 2026 International Conference of the International Society of Camelid Research and Development, marking a milestone in the league's efforts to build a globally recognized camel industry.
Held from Sept 8 to 13 in Alshaa Right Banner, the conference is being hosted in China for the first time, bringing together experts, industry professionals, and business representatives from 21 countries.
During the event, delegates are scheduled to visit camel farms and processing facilities, observing the full production chain from fresh milk collection and cold-chain preservation to deep processing. They also learn about local efforts to conserve camel genetic resources, develop standardized milk sources, and strengthen quality control.
