Man dies after being hit by train at Nanning Railway Station
An adult male passenger died after jumping onto the rail tracks and being hit by an approaching train at Nanning Railway Station in Nanning, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, according to a statement released by the railway station on Monday.
The incident took place at 9:35 am on Monday, when the man suddenly jumped to the rail tracks from the platform.
Train C8668, which was slowing down to pull into the platform, applied emergency brakes immediately, but failed to stop in time due to the short distance and collided with the passenger.
Station staff members immediately activated emergency protocols and summoned medical and fire rescue crews. Paramedics rushed to the scene and performed resuscitation efforts, but confirmed that the man had no vital signs.
The train resumed its journey at 10:56 am after the incident.
