The 2026 China International Mining Conference will kick off in Tianjin on Sept 10, with a new mineral rights trading section added to its traditional forum and exhibition format, organizers announced on Friday.

Themed "win-win cooperation, green and intelligent development", the three-day event at the Tianjin Meijiang Convention and Exhibition Center has attracted 658 companies from 25 countries and regions.

The exhibition area will cover 65,000 square meters, the largest in the conference's history, with zones for major mining companies, international exhibitors, geological survey institutions, mining equipment, technical services, smart mines and new energy.

"The theme conveys China's commitment to openness, mutual benefit, low-carbon development and intelligent innovation," Cheng Liwei, chairman of the China Mining Association and president of the organizing committee, said at a news conference in Beijing.

The newly added trading section will include a mineral rights transfer marketplace, dedicated promotion sessions, open promotion sessions, project signing ceremonies and business matchmaking, Cheng said. The marketplace will provide services including transaction displays, information releases, deal-matching and procedural consultations.

The forum section will feature 28 sessions — one thematic forum, six high-level forums and 21 specialized forums — covering the full mining industry chain.

The international mining ministers' forum, one of the high-level forums, has been separated from the regular lineup for a special arrangement this year.

The thematic forum will bring together representatives from financial institutions, global investment firms and leading mining companies to discuss global mining trends, resource security and green transformation.

Discussions will focus on industry frontiers, global mining trends and supply-demand dynamics for strategic mineral resources, with an emphasis on high-quality development, green and intelligent mine construction, ecological restoration, smart mining equipment, digital mining and capital markets.

Industry development reports and white papers, as well as roundtable discussions, will also be held alongside the forums.
