Nationwide campaign launched to combat digital piracy and protect youth
A nationwide campaign has been launched in China to combat piracy and protect young people, focusing on literature, games, and movies in the digital space. This initiative is a collaboration between the Copyright Administration of the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, the Ministry of Public Security, the Ministry of Education, and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
The campaign targets critical areas such as online literature, games, films, television, and both domestic and international books, aiming to rigorously crack down on copyright infringement and piracy that harm the rights and interests of young people.
Efforts will prioritize actions against illegal activities such as unauthorized reprinting, copying, distribution, and sale of pirated textbooks and educational materials. It will also address the illegal sharing of copyrighted online literature and films, as well as the operation of unauthorized private game servers.
Additionally, the campaign will focus on preventing illegal activities that encourage or involve young people in recording and distributing films without permission. It will also tackle the distribution of pirated products on campuses and online, emphasizing the protection of young people's healthy development.
