Senior Chinese national political adviser dies at 72

BEIJING -- Chen Wu, a senior Chinese national political adviser, died of illness on Monday in Beijing at the age of 72.

Chen, vice-chairman of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, was extolled in an official obituary as an excellent Party member, a loyal communist soldier, and an outstanding leader in ethnic affairs and economic construction.
