Fishing boats set off on Tuesday from a port in Zhoushan, Zhejiang province, heading for the East China Sea to commence fishing operations. The resumption of fishing in the sea, originally scheduled for Aug 5, was postponed due to the impact of Typhoon Dolphin. Thousands of specially licensed fishing boats, such as trawlers and gillnet vessels, ushered in the fishing season, while the full-scale resumption of fishing will start on Sept 16, marking the end of a four-and-a-half-month summer fishing moratorium.
