Didi partners with Brazil's Movida to accelerate green mobility transition
Didi's leading local services platform in Brazil 99, has announced a strategic alliance with Movida, one of Brazil's leading vehicle rental companies, to provide more affordable vehicle rental solutions, including electric vehicles, for drivers on the 99 platform.
The partnership is expected to benefit at least 50,000 drivers over the next three years, helping lower barriers for EV adoption in Brazil's ride-hailing industry and supporting the broader transition toward sustainable mobility.
Under the partnership, drivers connected to the 99 platform will have access to Movida's vehicle rental services with more competitive pricing and vehicle options tailored for ride-hailing operations.
Leveraging 99's experience in driver services and new energy vehicle operations, the company will help expand Movida's rental solutions among platform drivers and encourage more drivers to adopt EVs based on their operational needs.
Movida is part of Simpar, one of Brazil's leading transportation, logistics and automotive service groups, with businesses spanning vehicle rental, fleet management and related services.
99 provides a range of local services in Brazil, including mobility, food delivery and digital financial solutions. The platform has more than 60 million users and connects with over 1 million drivers across the country.
In recent years, Chinese electric vehicle manufacturers have accelerated their expansion into Brazil, working with local partners across sectors such as vehicle rental and mobility platforms to create more application scenarios for EVs.
The partnership between 99 and Movida further connects the EV ecosystem from vehicle supply and rental services to ride-hailing operations, creating new opportunities for sustainable mobility development in Brazil.
"We are excited to expand our partnership with Movida," Wang Simeng, general manager of 99, said. "Our focus is to help drivers maximize their earnings by providing access to higher-quality vehicles, differentiated commercial terms, and enhanced support through Movida."
"By combining 99's expertise with Movida's specialization, we are helping make vehicle rentals simpler, more accessible, and more profitable," Gustavo Moscatelli, CEO of Movida, said. "This partnership was designed to meet the needs of ride-hailing drivers, providing greater operational efficiency, more predictable costs, and better opportunities to increase their earnings."
