Chinese Ambassador Xie Feng: China is a ballast for world peace and stability

The Chinese Embassy in the United States on July 28 held a reception to celebrate the 99th anniversary of the founding of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) and commemorate the 90th anniversary of the victory of the Long March.

Chinese Ambassador to the United States Xie Feng said that peaceful development is rooted in China's civilization and remains the country's enduring choice.

He stressed that China pursues a national defense policy that is defensive in nature, adheres to its no-first-use nuclear policy, and will never seek hegemony, expansion or spheres of influence, reaffirming China's commitment to remaining a pillar of world peace and stability.
