Simona Abagiu, a 38-year-old Romanian woman, recently experienced the unique flavors of Yunnan's wild mushrooms and was captivated by the taste.
She noted that in hot pot, the texture of the ingredients is crucial. Some mushrooms are tender, others offer a satisfying crunch, and naturally, some bring a strong flavor to the table.
In the mushroom hot pot she tried, there was the lurid bolete, known in Yunnan as jianshouqing. The mushroom is completely safe to eat so long as it is fully cooked, according to Zhang Jianqiang, head chef of Aishangjun Wild Mushroom Hot Pot Restaurant.
Abagiu added that whether you are Chinese or a foreigner living in China, you should try mushroom hot pot in Yunnan.
