China added 14 European Union entities, including Lafert SpA and Rheinmetall AG, to its export control list, effective immediately, as a countermeasure against the bloc's newly unveiled 21st round of Russia sanctions, which imposed restrictions on 14 businesses based in the Chinese mainland and Hong Kong, said the Ministry of Commerce in a statement on Friday.

Exporters are prohibited from shipping dual-use items to the aforementioned entities. Overseas organizations and individuals are also banned from transferring or supplying dual-use items originating in China to these entities, said the statement.
