BEIJING -- The Democratic Progressive Party authorities have abandoned their national stance by echoing external forces to smear the Chinese mainland, a mainland spokeswoman said Wednesday.

Zhang Han, spokeswoman for the State Council Taiwan Affairs Office, made the remarks at a regular press briefing when asked to comment on Taiwan's foreign affairs authorities siding with the Philippines' claims and condemning "the mainland's use of force to harm people," following the Philippines' recent provocations and violent attack on Chinese law enforcement officers at Ren'ai Jiao.

Zhang said relevant Chinese authorities had clarified the facts and released on-site footage of the incident immediately, and had lodged stern representations to the Philippine side.

Ren'ai Jiao is part of China's Nansha Qundao and Chinese territory, she stressed.

By confusing right and wrong and attacking the mainland in collusion with external forces, the DPP authorities have once again exposed their betrayal of their heritage and their agenda of seeking "independence" by relying on external forces, Zhang added.
