Senior political advisers study Xi Jinping Thought on Party Building, CPC anniversary speech
BEIJING -- Senior Chinese political advisers on Friday held a meeting to study a speech delivered by Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, at a gathering marking the CPC's 105th founding anniversary.
The meeting, convened by the theoretical study group under the leading Party members group of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), also studied Xi Jinping Thought on Party Building.
The meeting was presided over by Wang Huning, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and chairman of the CPPCC National Committee. Wang, also secretary of the leading Party members group of the CPPCC National Committee, delivered a speech at the meeting.
It was noted at the meeting that Xi's speech, with profound thought and rich substance, is a political declaration for upholding and developing socialism with Chinese characteristics and securing new victories in Chinese modernization on the new journey in the new era.
The speech will inspire Chinese Communists and the Chinese people to march forward with confidence toward the goals of building China into a great modern socialist country in all respects and achieving national rejuvenation, the meeting said.
Xi Jinping Thought on Party Building provides the fundamental guidance and scientific guide for advancing the great new project of Party building in the new era, and serves as the theoretical weapon for strengthening the Party and building a strong country on the new journey in the new era, the meeting noted.
The meeting called on the CPPCC National Committee to continuously make deeper and more substantive advances in studying and implementing Xi's speech and Xi Jinping Thought on Party Building, so as to better guide and advance the CPPCC's fulfillment of its duties and Party building.
