Archway collapse leaves one dead and six injured in Shandong

One person was killed and six others injured when a memorial archway in Qufu, Shandong province, collapsed on Saturday after its top structural components fell off.
The incident occurred at 11:47 am at Renhe Street in Nanxinnan village, Nishan town, according to a statement from the township government.
All seven injured were rushed to the hospital. One of them died despite lifesaving efforts.
Emergency response teams arrived at the scene shortly after the collapse. Cleanup and compensation efforts are underway, and an investigation has been launched to determine the exact cause of the incident, the statement said.
