Zhang added the card has 128KB of storage space. Massive data is stored in the Xiong'an Urban Computing Center. When the card is swiped, encrypted keys are used to retrieve data from the center.
It breaks down inter-departmental information barriers and solves the problem of data isolation caused by fragmented administrative functions in traditional cities.
According to Zhang, all sensitive personal data is protected by hardware encryption. The card contains three independent accounts for social security, banking, and transportation, each with a separate password.
Meanwhile, the WeChat mini-program of the card distributes coupons covering four major consumption categories such as supermarket shopping and utility bill payment.
