AI platform unveiled to boost global visibility of Ningxia goji berries
An AI-powered multilingual communication platform designed to boost the global visibility of Ningxia goji berries was unveiled on Monday during the ninth Goji Berry Industry Expo in Zhongwei, Ningxia Hui autonomous region.
Jointly developed by Ningxia University and 21st Century English Education Media under China Daily, the project combines multilingual content generation, an industry-specific knowledge base, and intelligent distribution technologies to support the international promotion of Ningxia's signature crop.
Known as Ningxia's "red calling card", goji berries have long faced challenges in international communication due to fragmented industry information, inconsistent terminology, and a lack of authoritative multilingual references, making it difficult to present products and industry standards accurately.
To address these issues, the project has spent months building a specialized knowledge base for the goji berry industry. Since its launch in October 2025, the team has compiled 14.3 million Chinese characters of industry-related content and standardized 642 goji berry-related entries.
Organizers said the database allows authoritative information about Ningxia goji berries to be more accurately retrieved and referenced in online searches, content recommendation systems, and generative AI applications. The aggregation helps move the industry beyond longstanding problems of inconsistent translation and fragmented communication.
