Waterborne aircraft makes maiden flight

World's first consumer-grade wing-in-ground craft, the WaveFly 5X, developed by Navee, completed its public maiden flight on June 4 in Suzhou, Jiangsu province. The waterborne aircraft cruises just 50-60cm above water with a top speed at 85km/h. The company is set to roll off the production line by the end of this year with an annual capacity of 2,000 units from 2027. It is priced at $199,999 in the US market.
