Navigation and logistics rely on what the port calls the world's first integrated 5G and Beidou satellite system, paired with LiDAR and satellite vision fusion positioning for centimeter-level precision. An AI-powered operational system directs nearly 100 autonomous vehicles across the terminal. According to the port, the setup has cut cargo loading and unloading time by 26.2 percent and improved vessel berthing efficiency by 28 percent compared with manual operations.
Mohammed B.S. Jallow, vice-president of The Gambia, said he was impressed by the terminal's zero-emission performance and operational efficiency, noting that higher throughput achieved without pollution was a remarkable combination.
