With the 2026 national college entrance exam, or gaokao, approaching, the Ministry of Education has partnered with other authorities to ensure exam safety, the ministry announced on Tuesday.

The annual exam will be held in many provincial regions from June 7 to 8, with some regions extending the exam period up to four days until June 10.

Authorities are making comprehensive efforts to safeguard the exam, ensuring fairness, security, and robust support for millions of students, according to the ministry. During the exam period, local education departments and admissions agencies will collaborate with cyberspace and public security authorities to launch special campaigns targeting misconduct such as mobile phone cheating, sales of illicit cheating devices, impersonation, disturbances around test centers, and unlicensed tutoring institutions.

Authorities will also work to eliminate harmful information, including fraud, fake admission ads, and online rumors. They will enhance comprehensive services, including public security, transport, accommodation, catering, medical care, noise control, and psychological counseling, to ensure a conducive exam environment and uphold educational fairness.

After the exam, efforts will focus on optimizing guidance for university application submissions, the ministry added.
