2026 Xiamen Integrated Online Media Tour successfully held

From May 28 to 29, the 2026 Xiamen Integrated Online Media Tour, themed "Riding the Tide in Xiamen, Advancing Toward a New Future," was successfully held. During the event, more than 50 online media representatives and self-media creators from various fields across China gathered on the Egret Island.

The group visited multiple sites in Jimei and Xiang'an for on-site reporting and field visits, where they learned about and experienced Xiamen's latest achievements in technological development, industrial upgrading, urban renewal, rural revitalization, and ecological civilization. The tour offered participants a comprehensive view of the strong vitality driving Xiamen's high-quality development.

On May 28, the media tour made its first stop at the Southeast Headquarters of GEOVIS, located in Phase III of Xiamen Software Park in Jimei. Participants learned about the company's strategic layout of "taking the Intelligent Earth as its foundation, with commercial aerospace and the low-altitude economy as its two wings," and witnessed Xiamen's robust technological strength in exploring the vast frontiers of space and the sea. At the Xiamen Artificial Intelligence Innovation Ecosystem Community, members of the tour sampled coffee brewed by the "Dabai" robot and experienced an on-site demonstration by the same model of robot featured at the Spring Festival Gala, which completed item pickup and payment settlement. The experience offered participants a vivid sense of the surprise and convenience brought by AI as it becomes increasingly integrated into everyday life. At the Jimei New Town Experience Hall, the media tour group gathered at the observation deck on the 43rd floor, overlooking the beauty of Jimei New Town from above and learning about its remarkable transformation over the past decade from undeveloped land into a livable modern urban area. The tour then continued to Jimei Dashe and the Buwendongxi Art Park, where participants slowed their pace to experience the cultural richness created by the integration of contemporary vitality and historic charm. They learned about Xiamen's new approaches to urban renewal and gained firsthand insights into the city's achievements in the modern governance of urban villages. At the headquarters of Xiamen Haokang Home Service Co Ltd, members of the tour listened to the company's journey in creating employment opportunities and supporting people's livelihoods. They also gained a detailed understanding of a vivid example of how Xiamen is stimulating consumption, promoting employment, and expanding new consumption scenarios.

On the morning of May 29, the media tour group visited Wenyuanshan Agricultural Sightseeing Park, where participants picked fresh fruits and vegetables and experienced the appeal of Xiamen's modern smart agriculture. For the final stop of the tour, the group visited the Xiamen Airport Economic Zone in Xiang'an, gaining insight into a "new engine" for Xiamen's future development. Participants also took a ride on a hydrogen-powered bus, experiencing the convenience and environmental benefits of green, low-carbon transportation for the future.

At the themed event of the 2026 Xiamen Integrated Online Media Tour, titled "Riding the Tide in Xiamen, Advancing Toward a New Future: Discovering Xiamen's Trendy Appeal," local representatives from various fields, including technology innovation enterprises, self-media, and community entrepreneurship, shared their real-life stories of working and living in Xiamen.

Their stories covered topics ranging from industrial cooperation and project implementation to the promotion of hometown culture and opportunities for returning-home entrepreneurship. A number of senior media professionals also shared their perspectives and engaged in in-depth discussions on topics such as enhancing Xiamen's online city image, innovating communication methods, and showcasing the vitality of high-quality development. Three cross-platform self-media creators then vividly recounted, from different perspectives, how they first encountered Xiamen and gradually came to know the city better, sharing the warmth and surprises that Xiamen has brought them. In addition, international hosts from Ukraine, Italy, and Vietnam shared their personal connections with Xiamen and their everyday experiences of living in the city, highlighting the openness, inclusiveness, and international appeal of this "garden city on the sea."
