China welcomes Trump's state visit to China: FM spokesman

China is ready to work with the United States in the spirit of respect, equality and mutual benefits to expand cooperation while managing differences so as to inject more stability and certainty to a world fraught with turbulence, the Foreign Ministry said on Wednesday.

The ministry's spokesman Guo Jiakun made the remarks following US President Donald Trump's remark that he will ask Chinese leader to "open up" China to US businesses.

Head-of-State diplomacy has played an irreplaceable role in providing strategic guidance for China-US relations, Guo noted, adding that China welcomes Trump's state visit to China.

The two presidents will exchange views on major issues concerning bilateral relations, as well as world peace and development, he noted.
