Handan celebrates first International Tai Chi Day with performances, workshops

Handan in Hebei province celebrated the first International Tai Chi Day on Saturday with a series of concurrent events at Guangfu Ancient City, Handan Road Historical and Cultural District, and the Handan Tai Chi Cultural Exchange Center.
In November 2025, UNESCO adopted a resolution to establish March 21 as International Tai Chi Day. It is the first international day named after a martial art within the United Nations system, signifying the global recognition of tai chi.
