Chongqing Normal University, Moscow Conservatory launch joint Tchaikovsky Conservatory
According to Zhang Yan, Party secretary of CNU and dean of the conservatory, the conservatory represents a pivotal moment in China-Russia educational cooperation. "It is a key platform for meeting the growing demand for high-quality international music education and addresses the shortage of professional music education resources in Chongqing and western China."
Alexander Sokolov, rector of MSTC, highlighted the strong support the initiative has received from Chongqing. He noted that despite challenges, the project exemplifies the potential to carry forward the tradition of cooperation in music education between China and Russia.
The inauguration was a highlight of Chongqing's events honoring China-Russia Years of Education, which ran from Wednesday to Thursday. On Wednesday evening, a river cruise concert unfolded aboard the Shiguang cruise ship at Chaotianmen Dock.
