Implementing guiding principles of two sessions stressed

Premier Li Qiang presided over an executive meeting of the State Council, China's Cabinet, on Friday to study and implement the guiding principles of the just-concluded fourth session of the 14th National People's Congress, China's top legislature, and the fourth session of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, China's top political advisory body.

The meeting stressed the importance of focusing on the goals and tasks for social and economic development for this year, and urged solid work to ensure a good start to the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-30).

It also reviewed and approved a work plan of the State Council for 2026, discussed the establishment of a management mechanism for a negative list of local fiscal subsidies, and reviewed and approved the draft amendment to the regulations on the national agricultural census.

Top legislator visits media representatives

China's top legislator Zhao Leji visited on Thursday representatives of the media who covered the fourth session of the 14th National People's Congress, extending his greetings and gratitude to the journalists.

Zhao, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and chairman of the NPC Standing Committee, extended greetings to the journalists.

Zhao commended the media outlets and journalists for their contributions to the success of the annual NPC session, saying that they have produced a large number of high-quality and inspiring news works to boost confidence and strength.

The session concluded in Beijing on Thursday.
